Six Sealite Poseidon Buoys have been deployed in the Caspian Sea
The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) chose three green and three red Poseidon Buoys complete with SL125 marine lanterns to mark the channel entrance at the Emir Abad port providing clear identification for local mariners and tankers. Ranked as the world’s fourth largest oil company, the NIOC is one of the biggest national exporter and importers of crude oil and natural gas in Iran.
Emir Abad port is located in the Caspian Sea in the north of Iran. The Caspian Sea is the largest body of inland water in the world and contains 44% of the world’s lake water. Over 130 rivers provide inflow into the Caspian Sea which is bounded by Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
With a focal plain height of 2.5mtrs the Poseidon-1750 buoys are highly visibly making them the perfect solution for marking the channel entrance at Emir Abad port.
